Jo Dahan
Emerging from the French alternative scene, Jo Dahan first made his mark during the Mano Negra years as a bassist before pursuing a path that moves between rock, chanson and more cross-disciplinary projects. After the band ended, Jo Dahan broadened his experience: he contributed to the writing of Gaëtan Roussel’s first solo album, Ginger, and also played guitar with Les Wampas for several years. Under his own name, and later as Jo Dahan and the Gonzo Club, he developed a French-language repertoire where direct rock, electronic textures and songlike melodies intersect within a compact stage format. A first album was released in 2014 on Because, followed by a second in 2023 on Arsenic. On stage Jo Dahan is accompanied by Joseph Cartigny on drums and Tommy Haullard on keyboards, forming a trio that extends his taste for direct setups, taut rhythms and songwriting rooted in French rock. Jo Dahan’s trajectory thus links the legacy of alternative rock to a more contemporary formula, without a sharp break from his original ties.
