Rien Faire

Active in France since the early 2020s, Rien Faire operates in a space where experimental pop, art-pop, new wave and a taste for the offbeat intersect without settling. The trio brings together Alice Perret on keyboards and vocals, Lucas Hercberg on bass, guitar and vocals, and Corentin Quemener on drums and vocals. Rien Faire builds its songs around sometimes rough rhythms, catchy melodic lines and textures that can be supple or more angular, with a sense of songcraft that remains central even when the music branches off. Across three albums the band has developed a writing approach that reconciles formal exploration, discreet humour and clear hooks, often within flexible and unpredictable structures. The lyrics also convey a worried take on the current era, without demonstrative heaviness. On stage, Rien Faire embodies the tension between precision and collective play, with pieces that shift character from track to track and a very free way of combining experimentation, pop energy and the urge to dance.
