SAIDAH

Based in Amsterdam and rooted in London, SAIDAH frames her sets within the legacy of UK garage and British club music, with a marked taste for heavy bass, tense rhythms and the intersections between dance classics and more recent underground releases. She first emerged from Amsterdam’s club scene and now performs in contexts ranging from intimate venues to festivals, including Lowlands in the Netherlands and Modular in Cape Town. Her DJ work relies on a fluid movement between the memory of UK sounds and a contemporary reading of the dancefloor, blending groove, rhythmic tension and modern textures without breaking with bass culture. Alongside her gigs, SAIDAH hosts a fortnightly radio residency in Amsterdam on Radio Radio FM, where her show sweet like chocolate explores soundscapes centered on garage and its extensions. In this way she develops a practice attentive to passing these aesthetics on to varied audiences and scenes.
