Girls Don't Sync
Born in the United Kingdom around Gaia Ahuja (aka G33), Hannah Lynch, Sophia Ryalls (aka Sophia Violet) and Matty Chiabi, Girls Don’t Sync took shape as a quartet of DJs and producers in the early 2020s in the wake of the British club scene. Girls Don’t Sync works a sound rooted in UK garage, house and bass music, with fast-paced sets focused on rhythmic impact, pronounced bass and a constant flow between rave classics, references drawn from Black diasporas and South Asian borrowings. This four-voiced construction gives Girls Don’t Sync a fluid collective identity, where individual influences intersect without settling into a single register. First noticed on the UK club and festival circuit, the group later expanded to other international stages, notably in Australia and New Zealand. Girls Don’t Sync also developed a production arm by launching their own label, FOURMATION RECORDS, and releasing their first tracks, including Come Thru and Gunshots. They have appeared on bills such as Boomtown, Parklife, Reading & Leeds and Mighty Hoopla, in a format that foregrounds the collective, the dancefloor and the blending of British electronic heritages.
