Mark System

Anchored in North London, Mark System was shaped by pirate radios, the local club culture and the British drum and bass scene — starting out as an MC before developing his work as a producer and DJ. Active since the late 1990s and early 2000s, he has forged a path that links jungle, drum and bass and bass music through a flexible approach focused on rhythm, tension and clean melodic lines. His trajectory runs through the London scene and on to gigs across the UK and Europe, while his productions quickly found support from figures in the scene such as Shy FX, bringing him closer to the Digital Soundboy label. Mark System also collaborates with dBridge’s circle and has released on Exit Records, which issued his debut album Final Approach in 2015. In both his tracks and his sets he favors precise writing — energetic yet measured — where drum and bass structures remain open to wider influences from British electronic music.
