The Brothers Macklovitch

Behind The Brothers Macklovitch are Montreal siblings David Macklovitch and Alain Macklovitch, known individually as Dave One and A-Trak. Born during the pandemic, this joint project brings together two careers that had until then run in parallel: Dave One from the Chromeo side, blending funk, pop and electronic music, and A-Trak from the world of DJing, hip-hop and club culture. With The Brothers Macklovitch, the duo combines these references into a dancefloor-oriented format where disco, funk, house and soul intersect, with tracks built around groove, basslines and a direct relationship to the vocals. The Brothers Macklovitch’s aesthetic extends influences they have shared since their early days in Montreal while fitting into a contemporary scene shaped by DJ sets, electronic productions and the crossover between club formats and songcraft. Emerging in the early 2020s, The Brothers Macklovitch appear as a logical extension of their respective careers in a duo that foregrounds both their family bond and the complementarity of their musical worlds.
