Marine Neuilly
Born in Paris, Marine Neuilly has developed a career situated between rock, pop and club culture. She first emerged in the mid-2000s as a co-founder of Les Plastiscines, an all-female Parisian band with garage rock and power pop leanings, with whom she released two albums, LP1 (2007) and About Love (2009), before touring in France and abroad; several of the group's tracks were also featured in the series Gossip Girl. From 2012 onward, Marine Neuilly pursued a parallel career as a DJ and selector in Paris's nightlife, notably at venues such as Le Baron and Paris Paris, crafting sets built on contrast and the direct sequencing of styles. Her approach mixes electroclash, rock, disco, funk, French chanson and film music, and her mix-writing is informed as much by hip-hop cutting techniques as by her punk beginnings. As a solo artist she also composes her own songs, notably Je Préfère Ça, a French-language track with Balearic disco overtones that extends this hybrid world.
