Paloma Morphy

Born in Mexico City in 2000, Andrea Paloma Barrios Gomez Álvarez Morphy performs under the name Paloma Morphy and developed a solo singer-songwriter project that became publicly visible in 2022 when her cover songs began circulating widely on TikTok. Rooted in the Mexican Latino scene, Paloma Morphy works in a contemporary song tradition centered on voice, songwriting and a direct mode of interpretation, favoring an intimate rather than demonstrative aesthetic. Before dedicating herself to music she worked as a lawyer, a path she left to pursue an artistic career. That transition led to the release of her debut album, Au, issued in March 2025 by Sony Music Mexico. The same year she received the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist, an important marker in an otherwise recent trajectory. Between digital emergence, ties to Mexico City and the move to an album format, Paloma Morphy is building a career connected to the new generation of the Latino scene.
