Wafande

Blending reggae, urban pop, soul and touches of dancehall, Wafande has built a career on the Danish scene since the early 2010s, within a biographical context that links Denmark, France and Africa. He first drew attention in 2011 with the single «Gi' Mig Et Smil», followed by tracks like «En Anden» and «Uartig», where Danish-language singing rests on supple rhythms, pop choruses and a reggae-derived phrasing. This melodic yet urban-rooted songwriting continued on the album Nyt Land (2014), which clarified his balance between chanson, Caribbean groove and contemporary production. From 2014 he also appeared regularly on Danish television as a coach on Voice Junior. In 2015 he released the EP Grand Danois and launched Black Dylan with producer Nuplex, a project that broadened his scope beyond the Danish pop format while retaining the mix of reggae, soul and urban aesthetics present in his work.
