Ann My Guard

Led by Hungarian singer-songwriter Eszter Anna Baumann, Ann My Guard initially operates within a metal universe where introspective songwriting, mythological imagery and a taste for dark atmospheres intersect. The project revolves around her compositions and voice, with an initial period marked by four albums in that vein, rooted in the metal scene and open to narrative and melodic forms. In 2025, Ann My Guard makes a clear shift with She of the Sea and Stars, a semi-acoustic record that presents both new songs and reworkings of previously released tracks in a more stripped-down setting. This new phase brings darkwave, gothic rock and dark pop influences into Ann My Guard’s music, without abandoning the link between intimate emotion and ancient imagination. She of the Sea and Stars also features several guest musicians, including Ivar de Graaf, Nick Holleman, Elianne Anemaat and Davy Knobel. Through this aesthetic shift, Ann My Guard moves from a metal language toward a more experimental form focused on song, texture and the reinterpretation of her own repertoire.
