Dj Crazy B

Active on the French hip‑hop scene since the late 1980s, DJ Crazy B has developed work focused on turntablism and the mixing of urban and electronic music. He made his mark with the group Alliance Ethnik, where he shaped a scratching approach that served rap and funk tracks, combining sample work with stage presence. In the early 2000s he co‑founded the collective Birdy Nam Nam, a formation of several DJs who translated scratching and mixing into a genuine method of track composition, with an aesthetic ranging from instrumental hip‑hop to sounds close to electro and bass music. Since then his activities have alternated between club performances, festival appearances and studio projects — mixtapes, remixes and collaborations with French producers and rappers. DJ Crazy B’s style relies on a rhythmic and melodic use of the turntables, a taste for rapid transitions and vocal collages, and the blending of funk, soul and rap while progressively incorporating denser electronic textures.
