Tyreek McDole

Haitian-American, raised in Florida, Tyreek McDole performs as a jazz singer on the New York scene and at various clubs and international festivals. Based in New York, he develops a vocal practice centered on the idea that music is a privileged form of communication, capable of opening spaces for care, reflection and shared imagination. He came to prominence in 2018 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Competition, where he received the Outstanding Vocalist award presented by Wynton Marsalis—a milestone that established him within the American jazz community. Since then, he has been invited on stage with musicians such as Rodney Whitaker, Theo Croker, Gary Bartz, Maurice Brown, Joey Alexander, Terri Lyne Carrington and Nicholas Payton, and has performed at venues including Blue Note New York, Birdland, Dizzy’s Club, Ronnie Scott’s and the Salle Pleyel, as well as at festivals such as the Newport Jazz Festival, the Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz in Marciac and the Nice Jazz Festival. In 2023 Tyreek McDole won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, an important milestone ahead of the release in 2025 of his debut album Open Up Your Senses on the Artwork Records label.
