Giöbia

Based in Milan, the Italian group Giöbia develops a psychedelic rock deeply rooted in the legacy of the 1960s, blended with elements of space rock, neo-psychedelia and heavy psych. This quartet builds tracks where saturated guitars, hypnotic keyboards and repetitive rhythms create extended atmospheres, balancing straightforward melodies with more experimental passages. Giöbia’s discography opens with the album Hard Stories (2009), followed by Introducing Night Sounds (2013), which more clearly established the band’s aesthetic around a dense, hallucinatory sound, and The Magnifier (2016), which deepened the heavier, more cosmic side of their music. With Plasmatic Idol (2020), released on the Heavy Psych Sounds label, Giöbia reinforced its foothold in the European psych scene, before a split shared with The Cosmic Dead — The Intergalactic Connection – Exploring The Sideral Remote Hyperspace (2021) — and Acid Disorder (2023), confirming the band’s place on the concert and festival circuits devoted to contemporary forms of psychedelic rock.
