Sven-Ingvars

Formed in 1956 in Slottsbron, Värmland, Sven-Ingvars began in rock’n’roll and Swedish pop before, from the 1970s onward, being more often associated with the dansband scene—performing a mix of dance tunes, Swedish choruses and rock-influenced arrangements. The original core comprised Ingvar Karlsson, Sven-Erik Magnusson and Sven Svärd, later joined by Rune Bergman and Sven-Olof Petersson. After an initial EP recorded in the early 1960s, Sven-Ingvars established a lasting presence in the Swedish music landscape with songs such as «Te’ dans me’ Karlstatösera», «Fröken Fräken», «Börja om från början» and «Vid din sida». In 1963, at a concert in Karlstad, the Beatles served as the opening act for the band—an episode that has become part of their story. Sven-Ingvars has spanned decades and lineup changes; after Sven-Erik Magnusson’s death in 2017 the group continued with his son Oscar Magnusson as vocalist.
