Hans Philip

Based in Copenhagen, singer, rapper and songwriter Hans Philip emerged in the early 2010s on Denmark’s hip-hop scene as part of the duo Ukendt Kunstner, formed with producer Jens Ole McCoy, where he developed a style combining melodic rap and dark electronic atmospheres. After several projects with Ukendt Kunstner, Hans Philip launched a solo career oriented toward contemporary R&B sung in Danish, marked by slow tempos, minimalist arrangements and a strong focus on lyrics. The album Forevigt, released in 2019, established this new aesthetic where soul, pop and trap influences intersect in a more intimate approach than his earlier work. Since then he has maintained a discography mainly composed of singles and digital releases, balancing his rap roots with an R&B sensibility. Hans Philip’s music is characterized by atmospheric productions, highly melodic vocal lines and introspective writing that explores relationships, everyday life and the emotional ambivalences of urban life in Denmark.
