Specta

Active on the French hip‑hop scene since the late 1990s, Specta first established himself as an MC within the Saïan Supa Crew, an iconic collective from the Paris area that blends rap, ragga, singing and human beatbox. Through touring and recording with Saïan Supa Crew, he developed a style built on fast flows, clear articulation and a strong taste for collective arrangements, alternating multiple voices, rapped dialogues and sung choruses. After his time in the group, Specta moved toward a more individual trajectory, appearing on other French rappers’ projects and releasing songs under his own name that continue this hybrid approach between classic rap, reggae influences and more melodic touches. He belongs to a generation of artists from the Paris scene who helped popularize a highly theatrical francophone rap, rooted in the energy of live performance while cultivating precise studio work on vocal interplay, backing vocals and collective atmospheres.
