Fawn
Emerging on the new francophone scene, Fawn develops a project at the intersection of rap, chanson and pop, with a central focus on storytelling and lyrics. Musician, songwriter, composer and singer, Fawn constructs tracks where spoken, rap-adjacent verses mingle with melodic choruses over productions that alternate between introspective atmospheres and more direct energy. As the first signing of the MAT label, Fawn introduces their universe through a series of releases issued progressively, preparing a debut album conceived as a coherent whole rather than a mere collection of singles. The lyrics address both intimate subjects and collective questions, with a narrative concern that draws as much from certain strands of French songwriting as from contemporary approaches inherited from R&B and international pop — from Stromae and Bashung to Stevie Wonder and Frank Ocean. Accompanied on stage by the Cartel Concerts team, Fawn anchors the project in a constant back-and-forth between studio and live, where the physical dimension of the music remains tied to a considered discourse.
