Toward The Throne

Formed in 2012 in France, Toward The Throne develops extreme metal at the intersection of death metal, black metal and dark atmospheric textures. The project sits within a blackened atmospheric death metal aesthetic that combines massive riffs, melodic textures, raw vocals and slower passages focused on tension and melancholy. After several years of studio work and performances on specialized small stages, Toward The Throne refined a writing style oriented toward contrasts between rhythmic violence, harmonized motifs and contemplative stretches. This approach culminated in 2021 with the release of their debut full-length, Vowed to Decline, which established a distinct sonic identity marked by developed structures and a taste for introspective atmospheres. On stage, Toward The Throne has shared bills with Rotting Christ, The Great Old Ones and Une Misère, placing the band within a network of concerts and festivals dedicated to contemporary forms of extreme metal. Toward The Throne continues to explore this aesthetic framework, working on new material that extends this immersive, emotionally charged approach.
