Marco Castello

Born in Syracuse, Sicily, Marco Castello has developed a songwriting approach that blends Italian canzone, light soul, jazz, understated funk and rhythms influenced by Brazilian and Mediterranean music. A multi‑instrumentalist, he emerged on the Italian independent scene in the late 2010s with tracks featuring flexible arrangements built around melodies sung in a measured voice and a meticulous attention to acoustic textures. His debut album, Contenta tu (2021), defined the contours of this universe between orchestrated pop, a subdued groove and the legacy of the singer‑songwriter tradition, with a Sicilian rooting perceptible in his writing and harmonic colours. Since then, Marco Castello has moved between personal projects, collaborations and stages linked to Italian alternative pop, in a register where song dialogues with forms drawn from jazz and Latin American music.
