Brenk Sinatra

From Vienna, Brenk Sinatra has developed since the late 2000s a career as a producer focused on instrumental hip-hop and rap. His sound is built around soul and funk loops, dry drums and often dense atmospheres, sometimes bordering on genre cinema. Active in the German-speaking scene, Brenk Sinatra works with several generations of rappers and concurrently pursues a solo path in which instrumentals play a significant role. Gumbo, released in 2008, marked his first discographic milestone and launched a series of projects that established his aesthetic: slowed-down boom bap, a velvety groove and a strong attention to detail in the arrangements. Over the years he has collaborated with artists such as Casper, Haftbefehl, Olexesh, Said and Xatar, as well as American rappers like MC Eiht, Xzibit and Mac Miller, situating his work at the crossroads of German-language rap and a broader hip-hop heritage. In 2021 Brenk Sinatra founded the Vienna-based label Wave Planet Records and the Wave Planet Publishing structure.
