Witchorious

Formed in Paris in 2019, Witchorious brings together Antoine Auclair on guitar and vocals, as well as Paul Gaget on drums and Lucie Gaget on bass and vocals. The trio operates in a doom metal with sludge and stoner contours, with a marked taste for heavy riffs, massive tempos and dark atmospheres nourished by blues accents. After a discographic start in 2020 with the titles «3 AM» and «Evil Creature», Witchorious develops a sound where the thick saturation of the bass, the abrasive guitars and the alternation of screams and more restrained voices build a constant tension. The group is part of an aesthetic blending heavy doom heritage with a more contemporary approach, without seeking the spectacular effect. On stage, Witchorious plays regularly in Paris and in the independent rock and metal circuit, notably with a supporting act for The Wytches in 2023. Its first album, The Haunted Tapes, appears in 2024 via Argonauta Records. This disc extends the foundations laid by its early tracks with a denser writing, focused on a rugged doom metal, inhabited by repetitive motifs, rhythmic breaks and a climate of psychological tension.
