Moto Blanco

Born in the south of London, Moto Blanco sits within the British house scene with a sound oriented toward vocal house, deep house and funky house, in a club-oriented register that is both direct and melodic. The project was launched by Danny Harrison, who was also active previously within 187 Lockdown, and Arthur Smith, who initially released under other names before adopting the Moto Blanco alias in the early 2000s. Their discography includes notably Satisfied in 2003, 3 AM in 2004 and Black Sugar in 2005. Over the years, Moto Blanco has developed mainly through a sustained remixing effort for pop and dance, with club-ready reinterpretations that cross very identifiable choruses, flexible house rhythms and clean production. In 2013, Arthur Smith left the duo and Moto Blanco continued with Danny Harrison and James Hurr. The name Moto Blanco remains associated with an accessible house aesthetic, nourished by the culture of British clubs, between on-the-floor energy, vocal lines highlighted and formats designed as much for the DJ set as for the circuits of dance dissemination.
