Thee Sinseers

Anchored in East Los Angeles, Thee Sinseers are part of the chicano soul and lowrider soul tradition that emerged from the Latino neighborhoods of Southern California. Formed around singer, songwriter and producer Joey Quiñones, the group operates as a collective with a variable lineup, centered on a tight rhythm section, melodic brass and prominent backing vocals. Thee Sinseers emerged in the late 2010s with a series of singles released on the Penrose label, an imprint of Colemine Records, which placed their aesthetic between slow, sweet soul, doo‑wop ballads and mid‑tempo rhythm and blues. Joey Quiñones's writing for Thee Sinseers favors simple structures, vocal‑forward melodies and arrangements strongly influenced by soul productions of the 1960s and 1970s, without aiming for a strictly retro imitation. The band went on to play numerous shows at West Coast venues and independent festivals and on soul and funk‑specialized stages across the United States, before releasing their first full‑length album in 2024, "Sinseerly Yours", on Colemine Records, which synthesizes Thee Sinseers' world between intimate ballads and more danceable tracks.
