Bears In Trees
Formed in 2014 in Croydon, south London, Bears in Trees brings together four musicians whose songwriting and vocals are shared among several members, giving their repertoire a distinctly collective character. The band operates between indie rock, emo, pop rock and a pop-punk legacy, with songs that combine direct guitars, catchy melodies and an introspective tone often rooted in the experiences of coming of age. After early self-released tracks and the album Just Five More Minutes in 2017, the group refined its identity with the EPs I See Blue (2019), I Want To Feel Chaotic and Keep Me Safe (2020), followed by the double single Flower Through Concrete in 2021. This period led to and everybody else smiled back, released in 2021, where Bears in Trees broadened its scope while retaining lively, upfront songwriting. Having been on the Counter Intuitive Records label before returning to an independent setup, Bears in Trees has also built a presence on British, European and North American stages, touring both as headliners and alongside bands such as Just Friends, NOAHFINNCE and You Me at Six. In 2024 Bears in Trees issued How to Build an Ocean: Instructions, which continues this trajectory between collective energy and a personal narrative sense.
