Synthony

Born in July 2015 from an idea by David Elmsly and DJ Erika Amoore after a BBC Proms concert, Synthony has developed as a stage format dedicated to the meeting of electronic music and the symphony orchestra. Presented by Duco Events, the project is based on rearrangements of dance and EDM classics performed in a live setting that combines the pulse of the club with a broader orchestral writing. Rather than a band in the traditional sense, Synthony operates as an evolving production, conceived for the stage and adaptable to variable line‑ups depending on the date. Since its inception, Synthony has taken this concept to international stages while preserving the same aesthetic foundation: to make melodies from dance culture, the rhythmic progression typical of electronic music, and orchestral interpretation enter into dialogue. Synthony’s identity rests less on a conventional artist discography than on this work of transposition between electronic repertoire and collective performance, at the crossroads of symphonic concert and dance spectacle.
