Merely

Active on the Swedish electronic scene since the mid-2010s, Merely develops a project that sits between experimental pop, ambient and trance influences, carried by a very present voice and elongated synthetic arrangements. Emerging from the network around the Stockholm label YEAR0001, Merely drew attention with the album "Nirvana" in 2014, which established a universe combining pop melodies, choral pads and slow electronic rhythms, and continued this exploration with "Uncanny Valley" in 2016, where work on repetition and melodic tension became more central. Merely's tracks alternate between song-like structures and more atmospheric constructions, often built around stacked vocal motifs, rounded basses and bright or slightly abrasive digital textures. Alongside the records, Merely appears on various stages in Sweden and across Europe, both in electronic contexts and in lineups leaning more towards pop or experimental programming, and occasionally collaborates with other artists from the same network, allowing the project to move between club formats, staged concerts and more intimate performances.
