Cock Robin
Formed in San Francisco in 1982, Cock Robin centers on Peter Kingsbery, songwriter and singer, and Anna LaCazio, whose vocal interplay defines the group's identity. Straddling pop rock, new wave and melodic pop, Cock Robin developed a clear songwriting style driven by keyboards, guitars and the alternation of male and female voices. The first album, Cock Robin, was released in 1985, followed by After Here Through Midland in 1987 and First Love: Last Rites in 1989, a period during which Cock Robin mainly performed in Europe, with a regular presence in France. After splitting in 1990, Cock Robin resumed activity in 2006 with I Don’t Want to Save the World, and later issued Songs from a Bell Tower in 2010. Since the mid-2010s the lineup has evolved around Peter Kingsbery in a France-based version, with singer Coralie Vuillemin joining from that period. This new phase produced Chinese Driver in 2016, the EP Lollobrigida in 2017 and Homo Alien in 2021, continuing a blend of 1980s-style pop, rock ballads and more atmospheric arrangements.
