The Dumplings
Formed in Zabrze, in southern Poland, The Dumplings brings together Justyna Święs and Kuba Karaś, who began playing together in 2011 after an initial, more acoustic and indie-rock approach before turning toward electropop. The duo first caught the eye by releasing their tracks online, then refined a writing based on pop melodies, restrained electronic textures, and an alternation between intimate tension and more direct choruses. The Dumplings released their first album, No Bad Days, in 2014, followed by Sea You Later in 2015 and Raj in 2018, three records that track the evolution of their sound toward a broader electronic pop, always centered on the clear voice of Justyna Święs and the productions of Kuba Karaś. Present on the stages of Polish festivals such as Open’er and OFF Festival, the group has also played in showcase formats in the United Kingdom, notably at Liverpool SoundCity and The Great Escape. Over the years, The Dumplings alternates songs in Polish and English, collaborates occasionally with other artists, such as Mary Komasa on 'Jestem kobietą' in 2018, and continues their activity with several singles released after Raj, including 'Bez słów' in 2019, 'Każda z nas' in 2020 and new titles unveiled in 2024.
