Lander & Adriaan

Belgian project formed by drummer Lander Gyselinck and keyboardist Adriaan Van de Velde, Lander & Adriaan sits at the intersection of jazz, electronic music and 1990s club aesthetics. Active since 2020, the duo was born during the first lockdown out of improvisation sessions fueled by a shared taste for digital synths, Chicago juke rhythms, Detroit techno, UK funky and classic rave. Lander Gyselinck, also involved in STUFF., BeraadGeslagen and Hihats In Trees, brings a dense, mobile drumming style, while Adriaan Van de Velde, who has worked with Pomrad, Mauro Pawlowski and J. Bernardt, crafts keyboard lines with direct melodic contours. Lander & Adriaan thus develops a tense instrumental music in which broken grooves, elastic bass and acidic textures intersect without drawing a hard line between concert and dancefloor. Their live trajectory quickly took shape around a setup played close to the audience, notably after a noted appearance on Kiosk Radio, and on stages and festivals such as Down The Rabbit Hole, Into The Great Wide Open, Lowlands and Pukkelpop.
