Dafné Kritharas

Dafné Kritharas navigates the shores of the Mediterranean with an enchanting voice that blends heritage and feeling. Born to a French mother and a Greek father who was lost too soon, she draws on that formative wound as the raw material for her art: music where Greek, Bosnian, Armenian and Turkish songs meet, suffused with a rare intensity. Winner of the Prix des Musiques d’Ici in 2020 and the Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros in 2022 for her album Varka, Dafné reinvents traditions without ever betraying them. Surrounded by close musical collaborators, she brings cultures and eras into dialogue in compositions that celebrate the sea, memory and resilience. Between poetry and incantation, she turns ancient tales into living legends, where the voice becomes a passage between worlds.
