Rachel Bobbitt

Based in Toronto after growing up in Nova Scotia, Rachel Bobbitt develops a songwriting approach situated between folk and indie rock, with songs carried by a restrained voice, acoustic guitars and arrangements that can also take on a denser, misty hue. She first drew attention as a teenager on Vine, where she posted covers of pop songs and standards, before stepping back from that early exposure to refocus on composition. The shift from online covers to an original repertoire marked a turning point in her trajectory and illuminates Rachel Bobbitt’s move toward more personal music. Drawing on influences ranging from singer‑songwriter tradition to hushed rock textures, she places her work within the Canadian indie scene, between folk intimacy, melodic tension and direct songwriting. From Toronto, Rachel Bobbitt builds a solo project centered on themes such as memory, family relationships and cycles of pain, with a sober, precise approach and without demonstrative effects.
