Vanaheim

Active on the Dutch metal scene since the mid-2010s, Vanaheim develops a range between pagan metal and folk metal, with songwriting that alternates aggressive passages, martial rhythms and more danceable melodies inspired by folk aesthetics. Vanaheim fits within a European vein where unifying choruses, epic arrangements and rougher accelerations coexist without tipping into a purely extreme sound. The band first circulated with the EP The House Spirit, which accompanied their early concerts and their gradual insertion into stages dedicated to folk and pagan metal. As their visibility grew, Vanaheim shared bills with acts such as Heidevolk, Finsterforst and Equilibrium, coherent reference points to situate their universe and audience. Vanaheim's music rests on a balance between frontal impact and immediately legible melodic lines, in a format designed as much for the stage as for recorded listening.
