La Ludwig Band

Born in Espolla, in the Alt Empordà of Catalonia, La Ludwig Band formed in the late 2010s around a collective of musicians who write and sing in Catalan. La Ludwig Band develops an aesthetic located between folk-rock, pop, chanson and touches of Americana, with a marked taste for everyday narratives, characters, concrete details and often restrained irony. Their music rests on a balance between acoustic and electric instrumentation, direct melodies, vocal harmonies and a sense of tempo that borrows as much from rock as from country and the tradition of narrative song. After an initial phase establishing themselves on the Catalan scene, La Ludwig Band gained visibility with the album Al límit de la tonalitat in 2020 and continued that evolution with La mateixa sort in 2021 and Gràcies per venir in 2023. Active on Catalonia’s venues and festival circuit, La Ludwig Band belongs to a scene that reworks classic forms of songwriting and band rock from a local, collective and contemporary grounding.
