Malifeta
Born in the Valencian Country during the 2020 lockdown, Malifeta was initially built around Arnau Giménez, a member of Zoo, and Mireia Matoses, the singer of Pupil·les, before taking the form of an expanded group with Toni Fort, Marco Úbeda, Hèctor Galán, Manu Pardo and Ana Rajadel. Malifeta blends Catalan pop, reggaeton and dancehall with direct writing, folk-song-like refrains and a rhythmic approach rooted in urban music. The first tracks, « Xinxeta », « Coenta » and « T’estime Si He Begut », appeared as early as 2020 and laid the groundwork for a project conceived outside the usual frameworks of their original outfits. In 2021, Malifeta notably released « Un altre aire » with Vienna and « La cançó de l’estiu », then gradually developed its repertoire ahead of the 2023 release of the album Mitologia. The band then refined a sound where festive energy, Mediterranean references and pop textures intersect, without breaking with a strongly Valencian identity. Long remained a studio project, Malifeta moved to the stage at the end of 2024 with a first concert in Valencia, a step that accompanied the widening of the line-up. A second album, Brega, is announced for 2026, with collaborations such as Sandra Monfort and Toni Sánchez Pardines.
