Midnight Generation

From the city of Chihuahua in northern Mexico, Midnight Generation has been developing since the mid-2010s a blend of nu-disco, funk and synth-pop largely inspired by 1980s sounds. Carried in the studio by producer and guitarist Fernando Mares, the Midnight Generation project relies on a strong rhythm section, foregrounded bass lines and melodic keyboards, with frequent use of processed vocals and prominent guitar parts. After several singles circulated on digital platforms, the trajectory became clearer with the EP 'Young Disco' in 2017 and the album 'Odisea' in 2019, where Midnight Generation adopted a more dancefloor-oriented format while retaining pop-close songwriting. In 2022 the album 'Afterlife' extended this direction with longer tracks and a broadened sonic palette toward indie dance. Alternating between production work and a live band configuration, Midnight Generation is part of the network of Latin American electronic and indie scenes, maintaining regular concert activity and regional tours.
