Schur

Based in New York after a childhood in Connecticut, Schur develops a project at the crossroads of rap, indie pop and alternative hip‑hop. Deeply influenced early on by the rock of Led Zeppelin, he started on guitar and as a teenager played in the band Pampalibros, which brought him to bar stages and small local venues. With a friend he later founded Rock Cottage Studio, a recording space for young musicians where Schur records regional artists, organizes benefit concerts for the organization Horns for Kids and helps set up the Rendezvous festival, which has programmed rapper Felly, among others. Settled in New York to study at Columbia University, Schur turned to contemporary hip‑hop, immersing himself in the work of Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Logic and Felly, and began releasing his own tracks on streaming platforms, including “Gullwing Bravado”, working particularly on writing and song structure. Through his singles and the project The Unsure Mixtape, Schur refines an aesthetic that blends rapped and sung vocals, melodic productions where guitars sit alongside rhythms close to rap and modern pop, with introspective lyrics nourished by his experiences between New York and Connecticut.
