Whitmer Thomas

Raised in Gulf Shores, Alabama before moving to Los Angeles, Whitmer Thomas has built a path at the crossroads of music, stand-up, and acting. His musical universe extends a sensibility for indie folk and lo-fi pop, with acoustic, melodic songs often threaded with dry humor, autobiographical storytelling, and a melancholic tone. Initially active in the local comedy scene with the Power Violence collective, formed with childhood friends who were also from Alabama, Whitmer Thomas later became known as a writer and performer of shows where original songs occupy a central place. This approach takes clear shape with the recording The Golden One and its discographic counterpart Songs from the Golden One in 2020, then with the EP Can’t Believe You’re Happy Here in 2022 and the album The Older I Get The Funnier I Was, also released in 2022. Produced in the continuity of his live work, this repertoire blends intimate writing, everyday irony, and references to skate and punk culture that marked his beginnings. In parallel, Whitmer Thomas continues a career as an actor and voice actor, visible notably in Stone Quackers, The Walking Dead, GLOW, The Good Place, Slip, or The Civil Dead, while maintaining a performance format where song and storytelling remain closely linked.
