Baran Kok

Born in Istanbul and based in Berlin, Baran Kok develops a solo project situated between contemporary rap, trap aesthetics and direct writing, where questions of identity, visibility and the relationship to power intersect. A Kurdish artist, Baran Kok drew attention with the single 'Herr Officer', a track that immediately established the foundations of his world by blending outspoken delivery, political tension and personal assertion. He continued along this path with songs like 'Trap Bunny' and 'Babyboy', which extend this approach by placing it within a German rap scene attentive to queer forms and minority narratives. Located in the Berlin context, Baran Kok places his music in a space where club cultures, visual expression and new rap writings converge. His work is characterized by frank lyrics, a confident artistic identity and a way of articulating engagement, style and stage presence without separating the musical and social dimensions of his project.
