ILUKA
Born in Australia and based in Los Angeles, ILUKA develops an alternative pop at the crossroads of indie pop, rock and country-tinged influences, propelled by a husky voice and songs that blend bluntness of expression with very direct refrains. She grows up in the Blue Mountains, in a music-filled environment, her father being a luthier, and she starts writing her own songs at an early age. Her often cited influences, from Kate Bush to David Bowie via Queen, illuminate an aesthetic that combines measured theatricality, melodic sensibility and a taste for contrasts. Through her releases, ILUKA asserts a personal writing voice, where the intimate, anger and a form of irony coexist in taut pop, sometimes rough, without losing its immediate impact. Her trajectory accelerates in the 2020s thanks to several tracks widely shared online, broadening her audience and establishing her name on the Anglo-Saxon alternative pop scene. Based between Australian heritage and American context, ILUKA evolves her project toward a broader format with the album The Wild, The Innocent, and The Raging, announced for 2025, extending an artistic identity built on unflinching lyrics and expressive interpretation.
