Kaat Van Stralen

Active on the Flemish Belgian scene, Kaat Van Stralen initially developed a solo project before evolving it into a band format in which punk energy plays a central role without confining the music to a single register. Kaat Van Stralen blends post-punk, psychedelic rock, alternative spoken word and punk tension in Dutch-language tracks that maintain a direct, nervous and deliberately abrasive approach. This interplay among several aesthetics structures Kaat Van Stralen’s identity, with songwriting that alternates directness, detachment and spoken delivery while preserving the melodic thread. Among the released tracks is “Stop Met Wenen,” presented as a feminist punk anthem and representative of this way of combining rock urgency, a personal angle and a collective address. The shift from a solitary format to a band has strengthened the project’s stage impact, visible in its live activity documented on concert and setlist platforms.
