Wax Head

Wax Head is a British four-piece fronted by its drummer on vocals, operating at the intersection of psych-punk, garage rock and a taut strain of post-punk, with a direct, abrasive sound and a dark intensity. The band first made a name for itself on the underground scene with highly physical performances, before expanding its reach across Europe through tours and festival appearances, notably at psych- and indie-oriented events such as Manchester Psych Fest and Left Of The Dial. In 2024 Wax Head released an EP and a live album on vinyl while continuing to headline shows across the continent. The band carries this momentum into 2025 with a new European tour and a session recorded for BBC 6 Music with Deb Grant and Nathan Shepherd. Released via Sour Grapes Records, Wax Head’s music rests on repetitive riffs, rising tension and a raw energy that links punk’s urgency to more hallucinatory textures.
