Magi Merlin

Based in Montreal after growing up in Saint-Lazare, Quebec, Magi Merlin has since the late 2010s developed a writing style situated between alternative R&B, pop and contemporary soul, with a marked taste for contrasts between melodic softness, rhythmic tension and direct lyrics. Her early discographic milestones appear with the EP On My Way to the Listening Party in 2019, followed by Drug Music in 2021 and Gone Girl in 2022, which accompany her emergence on the Montreal and Canadian scene. Magi Merlin then sharpens an aesthetic that plays with off-kilter pop structures, sometimes abrasive atmospheres and a mobile interpretation, capable of moving from hushed singing to drier inflections. In 2025, the EP A Weird Little Dog continues this trajectory with a more free approach in form and textures. In 2026, Magi Merlin begins a new chapter with the singles POPSTAR, SpiceKick and So Smart, followed by the announcement of the Power House album, scheduled for the same year. Parallel to music, Magi Merlin also appears in cinema in the film Mile End Kicks in 2025, a coherent extension of a career built between live presence, image work and a singular sonic identity.
