Squid Pisser

Formed in 2022 around guitarist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Meehan and drummer Seth Carolina, Squid Pisser occupies a very noisy hardcore territory, at the crossroads of noise rock, chaotic punk and deliberately jarring songwriting. Initially conceived as a duo, Squid Pisser expanded with musicians from several bands in the American underground scene, including Michael Armendariz, Raz Azraai and Corey Wolford. The project emerged in the wake of Tommy Meehan's other activities — he has been involved with GWAR, Deaf Club, Cancer Christ and The Manx — while Seth Carolina is also associated with Starcrawler. From its first phase, Squid Pisser wrote and recorded a substantial body of material and played a series of shows in California and Nevada. Squid Pisser's music rests on abrasive guitars, a very dense drum sound, frequently fast tempos and vocal treatment that heightens the tension and dislocation of the tracks. Behind the frontal impact, the band works a form of controlled chaos in which hardcore mixes with noise textures and an intentionally dirty, unstable aesthetic.
