Celkilt

Emerging from the French rock scene of the early 2010s, Celkilt works in a celtic punk and rock vein, blending Irish and Scottish melodies with an energy close to punk rock and amplified folk. The band’s repertoire alternates bagpipes, fiddle and vocals with electric guitars and a rhythm section, in a format designed for the stage. After independent beginnings, the group ran extensive tours and released several studio albums, including Hey What’s Under Your Kilt? (2011), On The Table (2013), Kilt Up (2015), Stand (2017) and The Next One Down (2020), marking a gradual shift toward a denser, more arranged sound. Celkilt performs widely in France, across Europe and in North America, with notable appearances at festivals specializing in Celtic or rock music—from Washington DC’s Shamrock Fest to Hellfest in 2022 and the Pol’and’Rock Festival in Poland. The band has also played themed cruises between Miami and the Bahamas and appeared on French television, notably La Grande Battle and La France a un incroyable talent, consolidating an identity centered on live performance and adapting the Celtic repertoire to a contemporary rock setting.
