Ludivine Issambourg
Flutist and composer from Caen, Ludivine Issambourg develops an aesthetic at the crossroads of contemporary jazz, hip‑hop and electronic music. Trained in the classical tradition before turning to improvisation and contemporary music, she builds her musical language around a very melodic flute style, nourished by groove, electronic textures and rhythms borrowed from broken beat. Noticed on the French scene in the mid‑2000s, she accompanied producer Wax Tailor on stage and in the studio, which led her toward work more marked by sampling, sound design and hybrid forms between jazz and beatmaking. At the same time she founded the project Antiloops, a group in which the flute occupies the central role within an ensemble oriented toward jazz‑funk and instrumental hip‑hop. Her activity alternates between personal projects, collaborations with musicians from jazz, pop or electronic music, and regular stage creations across clubs, festivals and general concert halls. As a solo artist, an album like Outlaws (2020) synthesizes this trajectory by articulating composition, improvisation and electronic productions in a format close to nu‑jazz.
