Jens Lissat
Born in Pinneberg and active very early in Hamburg, Jens Lissat built his career in the German night scene from 1980, initially as an American disco DJ before taking part in the emergence of house and techno in Germany. After stints in several Hamburg clubs and then at Königsburg in Krefeld, he began remixing in 1983 and published Work The Housesound in 1987, often cited among the early German house productions. Lissat then navigated between dance, house and techno, with projects that marked the 1990s such as Sigmund und seine Freu(n)de for Erdbeermund in 1989, then Interactive, founded with Ramon Zenker, behind Who Is Elvis in 1991 and Forever Young in 1994. In parallel, he developed a more club-oriented facet under his own name with tracks like Energy Flow in 1993 and The Future in 1994, and performed on stages such as Mayday or the Loveparade, while being a resident at Warehouse in Cologne and at the Poison Club in Düsseldorf. Since 2002, Jens Lissat has formed with Marco Wolters the duo Lissat & Voltaxx, oriented toward direct house and tech house, tailored for the dancefloor, with releases such as The White Horse in 2002, House Music in 2008, The Sunken Bells of Ibiza in 2011 or Sunglasses at Night in 2013.
