Afem Syko

Based in Berlin, Afem Syko develops a club-music approach located at the intersection of techno, drum and bass and trance. A DJ and producer associated with the Berlin electronic scene, Afem Syko constructs sets and tracks where taut rhythms, dark textures and more melodic rises coexist without settling into a single format. His trajectory is rooted in hybrid scenes—between a frontal techno aesthetic, accelerations inherited from break-derived music and more emotional passages borrowed from trance. This movement across several club languages gives Afem Syko a profile that exceeds the most narrowly defined boundaries of techno and favors motion, tension and contrasts.
