Confess

Formed in Tehran in 2010 around Nikan Khosravi and later joined by Arash Ilkhani, Confess developed a taut metal sound that mixes groove metal, thrash and nu-metal touches, featuring heavy riffs, dry rhythms and abrasive vocals with blunt, direct lyrics. Initially active in Iran as a duo, Confess released Beginning of Dominion in 2012, the EP Back to My Future in 2014 and In Pursuit of Dreams in 2015. That period was interrupted when both musicians were arrested in Tehran amid prosecutions related to their music and lyrics. After leaving Iran, Nikan Khosravi and Arash Ilkhani were granted asylum in Norway, where Confess resumed activity from 2018 and adapted its trajectory to the European metal scene with an expanded live lineup. The band relaunched its discography with several singles before releasing Revenge at All Costs in 2022. Confess remains shaped by the move from the Iranian underground to Norwegian exile, a trajectory reflected in compact, aggressive music rooted in the codes of modern metal.
