Godsleep

Active since the early 2010s in Athens, Greece, Godsleep crafts heavy stoner rock infused with psychedelic and doom touches, driven by a strong taste for repetitive riffs and dense atmospheres. Built around a core of Athenian musicians, the band gradually asserted itself on the local heavy rock scene before multiplying club and festival appearances across Europe, following the Mediterranean stoner movement. Godsleep released their first full-length, "Thousand Sons of Sleep", in 2015, establishing a sonic foundation of massive guitars, a slow mid-tempo groove and extended instrumental buildups. With "Coming of Age" in 2018 they moved toward more melodic arrangements, giving greater space to vocals and airier passages while retaining the hypnotic quality of their compositions. The 2022 album "Lies to Survive" continues this trajectory with a more pronounced focus on dynamics, alternating heavy sequences, psychedelic moods and grunge-tinged sections, confirming Godsleep as one of the established representatives of contemporary Greek stoner rock.
