Greyborn
Formed in Limoges, Greyborn develops a dark and tense heavy rock that draws as much from stoner, sludge and metal as from a more direct approach to alternative rock. The band frames its music around thick riffs, heavy rhythms and an inhabited vocal, with songs built on a balance between frontal impact, darkened melodies and permanent tension. Greyborn places its message in an imaginary of social and political disenchantment, treated without affectation through lyrics marked by satire and lucid darkness. The band's trajectory first took shape on local and independent scenes, before anchoring in a repertoire published online and distributed on streaming platforms. Online discographic information available remains limited and does not allow detailing here a complete chronology of releases without risk of error, but Greyborn presents a coherent identity, founded on an aesthetic that is mineral, abrasive and melodic at the same time. In the landscape of French formations affiliated with heavy music, Greyborn thus defends a compact rock format, permeated by heavy atmospheres and a sense of relief that gives its compositions real continuity.
